Can you tell me more about the insulation services?
-
Spray Foam Insulation:
-
Description: Spray foam insulation is a versatile and effective insulation material that is applied as a liquid and then expands into a foam. It is typically used to fill gaps, cracks, and cavities in walls, ceilings, and floors.
-
Benefits: Spray foam insulation provides excellent thermal insulation, air sealing, and moisture resistance. It can improve energy efficiency, reduce heating and cooling costs, and enhance indoor comfort.
-
Applications: It is commonly used in residential and commercial buildings, including attics, walls, crawl spaces, and roofs.
-
-
Bubble Insulation:
-
Description: Bubble insulation, also known as reflective bubble insulation or reflective foil insulation, consists of layers of bubble material (usually made of plastic) sandwiched between layers of reflective foil. This creates a barrier that reflects radiant heat.
-
Benefits: Bubble insulation primarily works by reflecting heat rather than resisting it, making it effective in hot climates. It can help maintain a cooler indoor temperature by preventing radiant heat from entering a building.
-
Applications: Bubble insulation is often used in metal buildings, warehouses, and agricultural structures. It is also used in some residential applications, such as insulating metal garage doors.
-
-
Double Bubble Reflective Foil:
-
Description: Double bubble reflective foil is a variation of bubble insulation that features two layers of bubble material separated by a layer of reflective foil. This design enhances its insulating and reflective properties.
-
Benefits: Double bubble reflective foil provides improved thermal performance and better insulation compared to single-layer bubble insulation. It offers both radiant heat reflection and some thermal resistance.
-
Applications: This type of insulation is used in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial buildings, as well as in applications like under-slab insulation and metal building insulation.
-
What should I have ready for installation day?
-
Utility Line Marking: For safety and to prevent any damage to utility lines (e.g., gas, water, electric), please ensure that all utility lines are accurately marked before our crew arrives. If you are uncertain about the locations, we strongly recommend calling 811 to have professionals mark them for you.
-
Ground Preparation: To facilitate the installation process, it is crucial that the ground is level and ready. For buildings, the ground should be level within a tolerance of 3 inches, while concrete slabs will require laser-level precision. If necessary, our crews can perform dirt work, and cost estimates can be provided upon arrival.
-
Clearance Requirements: Clear a minimum of 3 feet of space around the installation area. Remove any obstructions such as trees, stumps, vehicles, or boats. If building over existing objects is necessary, please be aware that a build-over fee may apply.
-
Payment Preparation: Ensure that you have payment ready for our crew upon completion of the installation. Most installations take 1-2 days, with smaller units potentially requiring less time. Payment options include cash, cashier's check, money order, or card payment at our office (note that card payments incur a 3% processing fee). We no longer accept personal checks.
-
Permits and Regulations: It is the responsibility of the customer to obtain any required permits and meet local regulations before the installation date. You can usually acquire permits by contacting your local county office. Please note that Arkansas Carports does not handle permit acquisition but will offer assistance to the best of our ability.
-
Special Circumstances: Inform us of any unique circumstances or safety concerns related to the installation. Weather conditions can present challenges for our installers, such as the need for water breaks during hot summers or time to warm up in colder winters. Please respect these considerations, as the safety and well-being of our contractors are paramount.
